“Disn-ify” your Beauty Routine
As you stare at yourself in the mirror while you are getting ready to start your morning, do you ever wonder, ‘how could I make this more magical?’ Or are you the type of person that starts out with “Mirror Mirror on the wall?” (Hey – I stan that type of energy, queen!) I will be the first to say, I hate getting ready in the morning. It is SUCH a process. If you wash your hair that day, it’s an automatic 30-45 minute add-on to your routine. Curling your hair? Tack on another 10-20. To break up the monotony of getting ready every day, I amplify my routine with a little Disney magic. Today, I’m going to share some products that we use in my house to “Disn-ify” our beauty routine!
H20+ Hair and Body
If you have ever been to a Walt Disney World resort hotel, chances are you have tried to hoard every last bottle of this stuff that you possibly could. If you haven’t been to the parks in a while or your stash has run out, no fear! You can purchase the Disney H2O products online at shopDisney.com and find other H2O+ products on Amazon! That way, every time you shower, you can close your eyes and pretend you are at your favorite Disney hotel. The smell of these products make me instantly forget that I’m already late for my first meeting because its a hair wash day.
Laila Perfume & Cologne
Imagine yourself exiting the Frozen Ever After attraction in Epcot. You are walking through the gift shops when suddenly, you smell the most amazing perfume of all time. As you make your way through the Frozen merch and past the Helly Hansen jackets, you stumble upon a parfumerie featuring Geir Ness’s Laila fragrance. Every time we are in Epcot, we make sure to come through this shop to spritz ourselves with the perfume and cologne (and buy a bottle to take home!) Not only does it smell amazing, but it’s a good refresher while you are out running around in the 100 degree weather. If you think you have to visit the Norway Pavilion to get your hands on this product, you’re in luck! You can order the exact same bottle from Amazon or Nordstrom.
Disney Princess and Villain face masks
How fun are these? Cleansing face masks are a trend that I hope never goes away. It’s a luxurious feeling to slap one of these on, sit in silence, and be still for 20 minutes while your face is getting moisturized. I was gifted these particular face masks for Christmas and it’s such a fun way to incorporate some Disney theming into your at-home spa day.
Disney scented candles and bath bombs
Science tells us that scent is the strongest sense tied to memory. Did you know that Disney releases smells all throughout the Parks and Hotels? When you walk into the Contemporary Resort, you will get hit with the scent of green clover and aloe. Walking down Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom, you will get a whiff of freshly baked cookies and popcorn. Sometimes it’s real, but oftentimes it’s a scent they are pushing out. What if you could capture those smells and bring them home? Well – you can! There are plenty of different companies that create candles, bath bombs, and even essential oils of Disney inspired scents, but my favorite is Magic Candle Company. Their candles are made with a wooden wick which makes the candle burn evenly. The scents are spot on in terms of what they are inspired to smell like and are strong enough to fill the room. My favorites are Pirate Life (inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean ride), Wilderness Resort (inspired by Wilderness Lodge) and Polynesian (inspired by the Polynesian Village Resort)
Disney Makeup Collabs
There are so many amazing Disney collabs out there and there is no shortage of makeup mashups. If you are looking to bring a little magic to your makeup routine, I highly suggest checking out Colourpop’s Disney Collection. They have everything from lip colors to themed eye shadow pallets, princesses to villains. I don’t know if I could ever rock this personally, but this Baby Yoda, AKA Grogu, AKA the The Child shadow pallet is super fun. I got a little obsessed with Mando over the past year. Anyone else? Regardless of the option you choose, it’s sure to bring a little extra Disney sparkle to your day, and eyes.
